Yesterday Fermo celebrated Ferraugusto with the traditional horse race or Palio. Just before
the race there is a procession throughout the town of members of all the different contradas in their traditional clothing. Some of the costumes are really very beautiful. Each contrada also carries something which represents the work done by that group. The boat is from Torre de Palme where they were traditionally fishermen. Torre de Palme is now probably one of the most upscale villages in our area. Overlooking the Adriatic it is completely restored and really lovely. Here you can see Greta with the first boy to capture her heart, Fillipo. He is our neighbor Maria's grandson and Greta loves spending time with him. Thankfully he doesn't seem to mind hanging out with a three year old.

For those of you who have made the trip to Fermo this procession proceeds just around the corner from our house, passing the large church San Francesco. Not too much else to report. Greta was up at 6 o'clock this morning wanting to play, where are the uncles when you need them??? I know where in France relaxing and undoubtly sleeping in a bit. I hope. Grace is as always graziosa.

I'm sorry to hear Claudio's knee will take a bit more time, but then again perhaps it's a good thing (more time with the ever growing family!!!!) It is nice to get these pictures of your life!
